In Loving Memory Of Rick Luker
Rick was in a car accident head-on just drifted in the wrong lane no one knows why, hypoglycemia was suggested at the hospital but never confirmed. I can see from my window where this happened he was that close to home. I drove by the accident twice never knowing my own car he took my car that day being that it was better on gas than his big van.
Anyway he was critical in SICU... He was so messed up tubes comming out his chest, mouth, nose, damage to his kidney, pancrease, large intestien, asperated in his lungs, broken hip, leg broke in 21 places, broken wrist, burns up the back of his legs and his body went into shock and began to retain so much fluid they had to cut him from the bottom center of his rib cage to his groin to releave the pressure on his organs.
He was in the hospital for three weeks two of which I was allowed to sleep in a recliner by his side ( I thank God for this time ) I watched as he began to come around and tubes being removed he started talking and asking questions, cracked a few jokes about how much urine looked like a pitcher of beer and even eating and wanting to go home. He was released in to the rehabilitation center at 3 weeks with a prognosis of 2 weeks there then home with out patient rehab and a few more operations. I got to stay the night with him his first night at the rehab center per his request. ;)
Rick died the next day....
